Your Pet is Welcome to vacation with you at Beach Breeze

We love pets. We’ve had a dozen cats and dogs over the years, and we currently have two wonderful granddogs who come to visit us at Beach Breeze. We understand how pets can be an integral part of the family, and how you might want them to come with you on your trip to the beach. As a result, we have made Beach Breeze a pet friendly vacation home. You’ll find a nice peaceful, one-way street right out the front door for walking your four-legged friend, and if you want a longer walk when dogs aren’t allowed on the beach, just cross South Lake Park Boulevard to find many blocks of quiet residential streets. And there are plenty of great places nearby — including beaches — where you can take your dog any time of year.

We'll tell you about specific pet fees when you inquire about your stay at Beach Breeze.

Carolina Beach has an off-leash dog park and dog-friendly beach areas on the ends of the island.

Town of Carolina Beach Pet Rules:
All dogs are required to be on a leash at all times. Dogs are allowed on the beach from November 1st to February 28th. You must have a plastic or paper container that can be used to clean up and contain dog waste until it can be disposed of in an appropriate container. This container must be on your person at all times, and must be produced and shown, upon request, to anyone authorized to enforce this ordinance.

Freeman Park:
The north end of Pleasure Island is dog-friendly. You can drive on the beach in a four-wheel drive vehicle. There is a $20 daily entry fee or a $60 yearly fee to drive on the beach. You can also find street parking near the entrance and walk in for free. Dogs are required to be on a leash from March 1st to Oct. 31. The rest of the year dogs are allowed off leash, but they must remain under voice command and the owner must be within a reasonable distance. [NOTE: May, 2010: The town is discussing raising the fee for a yearly pass to $100. ]
